Oakland Hills Eichler Homes

Check out my new Mid-Century Modern Listing in the East Bay!

Oakland California Eichler homeBuilt in 1965-1966, this East Bay Eichler homes development known as Sequoyah Hills is situated in the Oakland Hills.   This Oakland California Eichler tract is situated near the intersections of Hansom, Shay and Phaeton.

With fewer than 50 homes in the development, these mid-century modern homes in the East Bay represent one of Joseph's Eichlers smaller housing tracts in Northern California.

Despite its relatively small scale, the neighborhood and its homes were well thought out by Eichler and the architects he utilized for this project (architect's Claude Oakland as well as Jones + Emmons).   A variety of floorplans are available and homes range from 3-5 bedrooms.  Lots are reasonably spacious by Eichler standards at 1/5 acre, with several Oakland Hills Eichlers enjoying views of San Francisco.East Bay mid-century modern eichler home

As one of Joseph Eichler's last developments in the San Francisco Bay Area, these homes include many of the features that today's Eichler home buyers seek out, including open atriums, in-floor radiant heating with copper pipes, modern pitched rooflines (double-A frame, gable as well as a few flatline roofs), philippine mahogany as well as drywall, and metal (not wood) closet doors covered with grass paper.

Given the small size of this mid-century modern East Bay housing tract by Joseph Eichler, only a few Oakland Hills Eichlers are typically listed and sold each year.   When Eichler listings do come up in this neighborhood, they typically sell in the $750,000 to $925,000 price range.
