Eichler Homeowners – Get Paid To Save

Despite our recent rains, California is officially in a drought situation and we are being asked to conserve water. Although an Eichler home doesn’t typically use more water than any other home, most Northern California Eichler communities are located in areas that are offering programs and incentives to homeowners to encourage water conservation, so I’ve rounded up a few websites for you to check out. Who knows, you might be able to save a little water and a few dollars at the same time!
- In the North Bay, Marin has a Get Paid to Save program that offers rebates for high-efficiency toilets, washing machines, and irrigation controllers. The program will last until December 31, 2015 while funds last. For more information visit Marin Municipal Water District.
- San Francisco residents are being offered cash rebates for qualifying high-efficiency toilets and washing machines, as well as incentives for rainwater harvesting and SFPUC’s Laundry-to-Landscape Graywater Program.
- Residents of the East Bay can check out the East Bay Municipal Utility District as well as the Bay Area Water Supply and Conservation Agency for a variety of water saving tips, incentives, and rebates.
- South Bay homeowners will find programs offering landscaping incentives as well as rebates for high-efficiency clothes washers and toilets through the Santa Clara Valley Water District and, for Palo Alto residents, the City of Palo Alto will even make Water-Wise house calls.
