Experience The SoCal Coastal Lifestyle On The LA Beach Cities Modern Home Tour

Posted by Renee Adelmann on Friday, September 11th, 2015 at 11:37am.

Have you ever wondered what it would be like to live on the coast of glamorous sunny Southern California? If you are in SoCal tomorrow, it’s your lucky day; it’s not too late to purchase tickets for the self-drive, self-paced Los Angeles Beach Cities Modern Home Tour and experience the coastal lifestyle for yourself!

The tour features six homes strung out along the coast from Santa Monica to Manhattan Beach and includes a Venice Beach bungalow that is storybook charming on the outside and contemporary chic inside, as well as a newly constructed home with an open floor plan and lots of glass creating outdoor style in an urban setting. Also in Venice is a remodeled bungalow that left its small size behind and expanded upwards into a creatively designed contemporary home that comes complete with a stackable car lift.

Just north of Venice Beach is what might be the most intriguing home on the tour. The home has a great backstory and was designed to transition the owner from his life circumnavigating the globe on a 45-foot yacht to life on dry land. This Santa Monica home, called Meridian House (visit it to see why…) is self-sufficient and provides its own energy through solar and wind power, has a system to collect rainwater, and a greenhouse for growing food.

The final two homes are about ½ hour south of Venice, in Manhattan Beach. Located on a narrow 30’ x 90’ lot, the home on 33rd Street maximizes every inch of space with a contemporary design that includes a Zen garden and open green space in the center of the structure. The second Manhattan Beach home is a stunning owner/architect designed dwelling that includes a poolside volleyball court, a metal + glass bridge linking the master bath and bedroom, and blue water views of the Pacific Ocean.
