Community Center Eichlers, Palo Alto

Palo Alto’s Community Center is an eclectic neighborhood that includes a two-block tract of Eichler homes.  The Community Center Eichlers are on the northwest corner of Melville and Greenwood Avenue, Greenwood Ave. (between Melville and Harriet), Harriet Street, and portions of Harker and Parkinson Avenues.  There is also a semi-custom Eichler home designed by Claude Oakland nearby on Guinda Street.

Community Center is a gracious neighborhood of eclectic homes, including about 30 Eichlers.  The Eichler homes in the community are some of the last homes Joseph Eichler built.  With 4+ bedrooms and 2000+ square feet of living space, most of the Community Center Eichlers are typical of the larger, more upscale models that Eichler built later in his career.  The Eichler home on Guinda Street is reputed to be the last home that Joseph Eichler built.
