Granada Hills Eichler Homes
Balboa Highlands is the only Eichler development in Los Angeles County. Located in the San Fernando Valley town of Granada Hills, the Balboa Highlands Eichlers are located on Jimeno Avenue, Lisette Street, Nanette Street, and a small portion of Darla Avenue.
Most of the 108 Eichlers in Balboa Highlands maintain their original Eichler character; and the neighborhood’s designation as an Historic Preservation Overlay Zone assures that the Mid-Century integrity of the neighborhood will be protected. The Balboa Highlands Eichler homes were built in variations of four basic models, including homes with flat roofs, A-frames and slanted rooflines, all designed by Jones & Emmons and Claude Oakland. All but one plan (a Claude Oakland L-shaped design) feature central atriums.
As a note of interest: Although Balboa Highlands was originally planned as a 250 home community, only 108 Eichlers were actually built.
