Read MoreMeadow Park is a Mid-Century housing development just north of East Charleston Road in Palo Alto. The southern end of Meadow Park includes an exclusive tract of Eichler homes located on Grove Avenue, Grove Lane, and Gailen Avenue with a smattering of earlier (c. 1957) Eichlers, mixed in with other Mid-Century contemporary homes, on Gailen Avenue as well as Bibbits Drive, Louis, and East Charleston Road. The Meadow Park Eichler tract is occasionally referred to as Charleston Terrace.
Most of the Meadow Park / Charleston Terrace Eichlers are larger, 4-bedroom homes, although a few smaller 3-bedroom models can be found. Thirty-four of the Eichler homes in Meadow Park are located on larger than typical lots, and were advertised in the original 1958 sales brochure as being on “extra-large lots with space enough for a swimming pool and other luxury features”. These Meadow Park Eichlers feature six different floor plans, all of them spacious with 2-car garages, two bathrooms, and four or five bedrooms. Meadow Park is directly across the street from the Eichler homes in Charleston Gardens (which was, at one time, considered to be part of Charleston Terrace) and less than a mile away from the two larger Eichler developments of Fairmeadow and Greenmeadow.
