Read MoreThe Terra Linda North Eichler tract was Joseph Eichler's first (and largest) development project in Marin County. The development is centered near the intersection of Del Ganado & Las Raposas Road in San Rafael and sprawls across several major streets including Las Colindas Rd, Las Ovejas Avenue, Montecillo Rd, Bamboo Terrace, Penny Royal Lane, Pine Lane and Barberry Ln.
Built over a span of years (1955-1956 and 1959-1961), Joseph Eichler's Terra Linda North development consists of approximately 630 houses designed by progressive architectural firms Anshen + Allen as well as Jones and Emmons.
Terra Linda North Eichler homes are either 3 or 4 bedrooms with 2 baths and typically sell between $1.5M and $1.85M. Homes at the lower end of the price range are typically older Eichlers with steel (not copper) pipes for the radiant heating system.
Virtually all of these Eichler homes in Terra Linda North are traditional, one-story Eichler post-and-beam ranch homes with the exception of a small group of two-story Eichler houses located in Terra Linda near the intersection of Beechnut Court & Las Ovejas Avenue. In addition to Eichler houses, there is a small tract of approximately 200 Alliance homes in this same neighborhood which are often mistaken as Eichlers. These Alliance tract homes, which feature post-and-beam construction and in-floor radiant heat, were built in 1954
